One of the reasons I started doing Moon Writes is that writing in rhythm with the natural cycles, with the phases of the moon, enhances the benefits of proprioceptive writing.
​
Proprioceptive writing has been around since the 70s, but the power of writing to heal and grow spiritually has been known since writing began.
​
In fact, the world's first writer was a princess and a priestess as well as a writer and poet. Enheduanna worked as the high priestess of the moon deity Nanna-Suen at a temple in Ur (in modern-day Southern Iraq). The celestial nature of her occupation is reflected in her name, meaning “Ornament of Heaven.”

It is fascinating to me that many ancient scribes were poets, healers, and mystics. Yet how often do we consider the role writing itself plays in their accomplishments?
​
It is not only an ancient secret, but emerging modern wisdom that the act of writing itself is what bestows the benefits of it's power upon the writer.
​
Whoa.
​
Think about it, writing itself is a healing act
​
... a mystical act
​
... a way to transform ourselves and our lives.
​
The proprioceptive method is a simple structure to help us maximize these benefits of writing. The word "proprioceptive" refers to the inherent wisdom of the body, where mind and spirit and emotion express through physical form.
​
In more simple terms, it is a method of listening to the wisdom of the body, and when it comes to Moon Writes, we are able to tap into the lunar influences of the moon.
​
I call it Writing Your Soul Alive.
​
I'm hosting a FREE Moon Write (usually $44 a session) this Thursday, October 1, as we welcome the invigorating, intense Full Moon in Aries...

... kicking off the incredibly passionate month of October, which holds not 2 but 3 lunations, beginning and ending with a full moon.​
