π More Marie Kondo Magic
This isnβt Marie Kondo, but it invokes her queen of the abode angelicism. Listen to her.
... I'd like to follow up on the Marie Kondo magic we spoke about yesterday.
β
When asked about her home greeting ritual, she says, "I began this custom quite naturally based on the etiquette of entering Shinto shrines. There can be tense anticipation before tidying, and Iβve discovered that connecting with the home can profoundly improve the process.
β
Tidying is an opportunity to express appreciation for your home and all it does for you. Create a dialogue with your space β thank it for protecting and nurturing you β especially if youβre about to embark on a tidying marathon!"
β
I absolutely love the idea of creating a dialogue with your space.
β
At my desk I keep a writing altar, which I cultivate with items resonate with the current moon cycle. I go into this more for my New and Full Moon Moon Writes that I host on Zoom each month. I'm realizing that this has served as a form of dialogue with my writing space, what a neat intuitive serendipidy.
β
I remember visiting a Shinto Temple in Japan. It was many years ago, but I remember the Temples being very outdoor-y, sort of like the outdoor malls we have in the US. I hate comparing a Temple to a mall, but that's the best example I can think of at the moment (what does that say about the US!?). I remember standing around huge incense pot that looked sort of like a bird feeder. We lit incense and prayed in silence. It was really beautiful.
β
Speak to your space, but remember to listen....
β
Your space is speaking to you too. How does your space reflect all the ways you are growing?
β
Remember, you are magic β¨
